Menus
What a difference a week makes. This weekend I went on the 7th grade retreat as the nurse. I came home with a sore back, I can't stand up straight without pain. Grr, luckily it usually is short lived. A minor inconvenience.
My house is a wreck again, and laundry piles are plentiful. Oh well, life is well lived at our house:)
Monday
Pork Chops(never had them last week) I "fry" them in a skillet with coconut oil and Mrs. Dash Lemon Pepper seasoning.
Salad
fried potatoes
Strawberries
Tuesday
Slow Cooker Carmalized Onion Pot Roast in the crock pot with potatoes and carrots
Wednesday
Ham and cheese quiche
Thursday
Chicken strips
mac and cheese
salad
Friday
pizza

We have the day off today, I so love 3 day weekends. My laundry is caught up, house is somewhat clean and I am rested! Woohoo. I took the kids to see "Parental Guidance" this afternoon. It is the second time I have seen it and I cried again today. It really is a clean, cute movie.
Here are our tentative menus for the week.

I am off on a 7th grade retreat. They are on their own.
I tried out this new recipe a couple weeks ago. It was a hit. I took it to a friend who is pregnant with twins and not feeling so great, and she asked for the recipe. That usually tells me it is pretty yummy!

It Hit me
These verses "Hit Me" this morning.
So relevant. So alive.
I have a friend whose dad is losing his battle with cancer. She said she keeps reading him scripture even though he is unresponsive.
"It is hard though, the words on the page are so relevant and there are regrets. The tears just come."
Keep reading, keep reading....
“Is not this the kind of fasting I have chosen:
to loose the chains of injustice
and untie the cords of the yoke,
to set the oppressed free
and break every yoke?
Is it not to share your food with the hungry
and to provide the poor wanderer with shelter—
when you see the naked, to clothe him,
and not to turn away from your own flesh and blood?
Then your light will break forth like the dawn,
and your healing will quickly appear;
then your righteousness will go before you,
and the glory of the LORD will be your rear guard.
~Isa. 58:3-8

Menus
After not feeling well for the last few days, I am dragging this morning. I am on the mend and up for a busy week! I spent the evening last night making cookies for a sports banquet and my lunch for the week(ww pasta with tomatoes, sauce and fresh parmesan). Here is a picture of my freezer list I keep in my office drawer to remind me what I have left. Fancy, I know. It should be on pinterest! Works for me!
Joe has a couple interviews for jobs this week, so our life could change! The stresses of his current job effect the whole family. I am trying to have faith that God knows exactly what we need, and His timing is perfect. It is hard to understand sometimes. Why did God lead us to this job, it's what we THOUGHT He wanted for us? It didn't turn out the way we expected. Our needs are met, and I am sure there is a lesson for us too. Trusting in his faithfulness today.
Psalm 147:10-11
"His delight is not in the strength of the horse, nor his pleasure in the legs of man, but the Lord takes pleasure in those who fear him, in those who hope in his steadfast love."
Monday
Chubby Chicken and cheese taquitos (new recipe)(made with leftover rotisserie chicken :)
salad
Tuesday
Spaghetti and meatballs (we never ate it last week)
Wednesday
Turkey sausage
Julianne potatoes
green beans
Thursday
Heart shaped Ravioli(Costco) with 2 sauces.
Caesar salad
Heart shaped brownies
Friday
Leftovers or pizza if none left.

Menus
It's Tuesday, we had Monday off of school. It is pure genius to have the day after the super bowl off, genius I tell you. I will forever be off a day all week though.
Oh well, we had a fun day off.
I got my haircut, went to the chiropractor and took the youngest to Dave and Busters with a friend to use up our remaining tickets. They were burning a hole in his pocket. Exciting stuff. We then headed to Costco and I filled them up on samples. When else can I get him to eat lentils. Seriously, he loved the spicy lentils. Crazy.
I then came home to do 10 loads of laundry, I kid you not. Clean and collapse in bed. Only to realize this morning that the boys alarms didn't go off, or they didn't hear them or they chose not to hear them. Late start for my methodical boys means grumpiness. Ann's jeans were still wet in the dryer and Amy's throat hurt. A generally fun morning all around!
I will miss these days right? right?
I know I will.
Monday
Knock off Olive Garden Chicken Gnocchi soup- Delicious!
Rotisserie chicken- I can't resist Costco chicken
Tuesday
Asian Chicken
Rice
salad
Wednesday
Chicken Tacos
Thursday
Chili - we never had it last week.
Friday

Menu Monday and Faith
God is working on my selfish heart. Reminding me how faithful He is and how faithful He has been to me in the past. Trusting him for things I think I can take carte of is hard. Letting go.....to be guided.
Psalm 32:8 "I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you and watch over you."
I was reminded at church this weekend that my prayer life isn't what it should be. I am not sure it will ever be. I am trying and will keep trying. My breath prayers are usually there, my close my eyes prayers are usually there, but my quiet time gets pushed to the backburner all the time. I am a work in progress. Thank you Jesus that your mercies are new EVERY morning.
Menus for the work are as loosely follows :)
Monday
Potato Soup in the crock pot
Caesar salad
Tuesday
Beef tips in the crock pot
Wednesday
Spaghetti and meatballs
garlic bread
Thursday
Beef and 3 cheese Tetrazzini (new recipe I made over Winter break.)
Green beans
Friday
Chili
Corn bread
