Prayer request...
I just read about a former student of Joes from Northwood. Her name is Sarah(Moneyheffer) Damaska. She was one of our babysitters for Amy when she was a mere babe.
So sweet, we were so not surprised when she married someone in full time ministry. Her wedding was beautiful, she has since had 3 beautiful children.
Her youngest Annie Jane died tuesday of a brain tumor. I don't know the details, they don't matter really. She was 7 months old and had brain tumor that they just recently found out about.
My heart aches for them. Like I said last week, God knows their pain and He weeps with them.
Please join me in praying for them.

Happy Birthday Baby Boy
My baby is 7 today. It can't be. Amy, our oldest was only 6 when he was born. We have lived in the same house his whole life. Seems so odd to me.
He had a long birthday list. I think he may be disappointed when he opens his gifts. No 4 wheeler, no ipod touch. Only the youngest child thinks of these things.
He will just have to make do with 2 new pairs of shoes, new lunchbox, (I know it sounds lame, but they were on his list too!), westfield rocks sweat shirt and pants, and The Star Wars prequel movies. Grandma and Grandpa got him a bike and video game and uncle Buddy and aunt Leann got him a flag football set, so all the fun stuff was taken.
I am taking in cookie cake for his class this afternoon and I drove him to school this morning.
He is having a friends party on friday night- Football Themed.
Happy Birthday Baby boy! He was born at 1158 pm, so he informed me he really isnt 7 yet.
I love you dearly, you have brought our family much joy!

A.D.D.
Our new series at church has been looking at our attentive (or lack there of) life. I have really enjoyed thinking about paying attention. Not sure I have paid attention yet....but I have enjoyed thinking about it nonetheless!
2 things stirred my heart yesterday at church.
1.) a Promo showing senior high youth students and adult volunteers making a difference...
2.) Singing a song which made me think about number 1.
hmmmm I am trying to pay attention but sometimes I think God speaks to me in French and I listen in Spanish. Or another way to say it... the older I get the more I realize He talks to me and I dont hear.
learning to listen and pay attention.

Thankful
I have a special talent. It is a learned behavior, needed to survive sometimes. I wish I wasn't so good at it.
You see, I have the ability to put on a happy face and appear that everything is great, when I am actuallly crying on the inside.
Last week I was at a very public function when out of the blue was struck with the image/reminder of a past hurt. I kept going, talking to people, being social ,acting like everything was great.
I got to my car, alone. I just sobbed.
Feeling. very. alone.
I looked down and saw my scripture cards on the dash. On top it read:
Psalm 139:4
"Before a word is on my tongue you know it completely, O Lord."
I sobbed some more.
You see, God knew my hurt, before I even had to say it, or ask for help. I believe He cried along with me- He loves me and doesn't like to see me hurt and broken. He knows my heart, even when I hide it from others.
As the week has went on, I have been struck several times by songs, blogs, images, verses, that remind me of how much He loves me.
I don't believe in coincidences.
I believe that my God loves each of us so much that He desperately wants to show us.
For this I am truly thankful!
He shows up when we need it and even when we don't think we do.
We just have to be attentive to Him.
Where have you seen God today?
