Menus

After not feeling well for the last few days, I am dragging this morning.  I am on the mend and up for a busy week! I spent the evening last night making cookies for a sports banquet and my lunch for the week(ww pasta with tomatoes, sauce and fresh parmesan).  Here is a picture of my freezer list I keep in my office drawer to remind me what I have left. Fancy, I know.  It should be on pinterest! Works for me!
Joe has a couple interviews for jobs this week, so our life could change! The stresses of his current job effect the whole family.  I am trying to have faith that God knows exactly what we need, and His timing is perfect.  It is hard to understand sometimes.  Why did God lead us to this job, it's what we THOUGHT He wanted for us?  It didn't turn out the way we expected.  Our needs are met, and I am sure there is a lesson for us too. Trusting in his faithfulness today.

Psalm 147:10-11
"His delight is not in the strength of the horse, nor his pleasure in the legs of man, but the Lord takes pleasure in those who fear him, in those who hope in his steadfast love."

Menus

It's Tuesday, we had Monday off of school.  It is pure genius to have the day after the super bowl off, genius I tell you.  I will forever be off a day all week though.
Oh well, we had a fun day off.
I got my haircut, went to the chiropractor and took the youngest to Dave and Busters with a friend to use up our remaining tickets.  They were burning a hole in his pocket.  Exciting stuff.  We then headed to Costco and I filled them up on samples.  When else can I get him to eat lentils.  Seriously, he loved the spicy lentils.  Crazy.
I then came home to do 10 loads of laundry, I kid you not. Clean and collapse in bed. Only to realize this morning that the boys alarms didn't go off, or they didn't hear them or they chose not to hear them.  Late start for my methodical boys means grumpiness.  Ann's jeans were still wet in the dryer and Amy's throat hurt.  A generally fun morning all around!
I will miss these days right? right?

 I know I will.

Menu Monday and Faith

God is working on my selfish heart.  Reminding me how faithful He is and how faithful He has been to me in the past.  Trusting him for things I think I can take carte of is hard.  Letting go.....to be guided.

Psalm 32:8 "I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you and watch over you."

I was reminded at church this weekend that my prayer life isn't what it should be.  I am not sure it will ever be. I am trying and will keep trying. My breath prayers are usually there, my close my eyes prayers are usually there, but my quiet time gets pushed to the backburner all the time.  I am a work in progress. Thank you Jesus that your mercies are new EVERY morning.

WFMW- Dry Skin Relief

My skin gets soooo dry in the winter.  We have a humidifier, I drink lots of water and try to use lotions when I have time.  Nothing seemed to help, I was still itchy!
Then I tried this in showermoisturizer from Olay.  I love it!  It is quick and it really works.  No more itchy legs and back :)
I am sure there is a better for you solution, like slathering on coconut oil all over, but " ain't no body got time for that"
I need a super quick solution, so I don't have to get up any earlier than I need to.  I'm lazy like that.
So, for my dry skin, Olay in shower moisturizer works for me!

Beer Cheese Soup Recipe

I am linking up to a Soup recipe exchange at Kelly's Korner  <------ .=".">
Here is one of our favorite soups.  I make it in the crock pot and serve it in Panera bread bowls.

Beer Cheese Soup

Ingredients

•2 tablespoons finely chopped onion

•1/2 teaspoon butter

•2 cans (10-3/4 ounces each) condensed cream of celery soup, undiluted

•1 cup beer or nonalcoholic beer

•1 cup milk

•1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce

•1/2 teaspoon dried parsley flakes

•1/4 teaspoon paprika

•3/4 pound process cheese (Velveeta), cubed

•In a large saucepan, saute onion in butter. Stir in the soup, beer, milk, Worcestershire sauce, parsley and paprika. Reduce heat; stir in cheese until melted. Heat through (do not boil). Yield: 6 servings.

I usually double this and just put all of the ingredients in the crock pot on low for 4-6 hours.  Yummy!

Menus

Good weekend here, busy week ahead.  I am glad I have meals in the freezer to use.

I actually skipped some of the high school basketball games this weekend and let Joe take the boys(girls had sleepovers).  I had some time to myself. so I painted my laundry closet( no room, just closet), and reorganized the cabinets in there.  It felt good.  I am slowly getting things organized, I just wish they would stay that way.
I also went to 3 different grocery stores, and feel well stocked for lunches etc.  I even put veggies and snacks in snack size bags, so the kids can just make their own lunches.
The garage got cleaned on Saturday with the 60 degree weather, I so wish it would stay that way( clean and warm :))
Today is a new day, thankfully His mercies are new every morning!  Eating less and trying to move more!
